Our Ministries Reaching Out in Love UWGB Ministry - Pastor DeCoste has office hours at the Ecumenical Center on campus on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 - noon. Come and chat. Soup supper planned for March 8th. There is a Food Pantry at Christ of the Bay. Donations of dry goods and canned foods marked "Pantry" may by left in the kitchen. We have an emergency fund for some of our members who have lost jobs or need assistance. If you are moved to give a special gift, please put a check in the offering plate or send it to the church office. Make check payable to: Christ of the Bay Lutheran, with "Emergency Fund" on the memo line. Pastor will see to it that the appropriate people receive the funds. Thank you for any help you can give. Our music ministry offers many ways to share. HeavenSound, the praise team, practices at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday nights and 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning (8:15 a.m. on summer Sunday's) and leads the congregation in the 10:30 a.m. worship service each Sunday (9:00 a.m. in summer every other Sunday). The Voice Choir practices on Wednesday nights at 5:30 p.m. and sings in the worship services during the holiday seasons. The Handbell Choir practices on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. (begins again in fall). The 9:15 a.m. Sunday School opening is a place where children offer their praises and they will also be singing in the worship service at various times. Our LWML chapter, the Ladies in Mission, has many projects. Last year on March 14th we held our annual Craft, Bake and Rummage Sale. The sale raised almost $2000 for missions and projects. This year's sale is March 13th. At Christmastime we participated in "Adopt a Family" program for a family at Trinity. Items were collected and given to them before Christmas. In the past we have also marked Bibles for prison ministry and made quilts for the "Linus Project". Our group meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Our group hosted the Fall Rally for our zone on October 11th. June 22nd-26th was VBS week in 2009 at Christ of the Bay. The theme was "Crocodile Dock". Besides serving our member children, it was a great outreach as many unchurched kids attended and learned the truth about Jesus!! Our Sunday School offerings have gone to the Salvation Army food bank, missionaries and other good causes. This quarter's offerings are going to disaster relief in Haiti. |
