Thought for the Day:

Nine to five is usually not the typical day of a pastor -- nor was it for Jesus.  Teaching in the synagogue, healing a man possessed by an evil spirit, healing Simon's mother-in-law, healing more of the sick and diseased, casting out demons -- all are elements of Jesus' days of ministry.  Through it all Jesus is compelled to fulfill His mission of preaching and proclaiming:  “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.”  Christ still proclaims the Good News of God through His Word that is preached from the pulpit, read at the lectern, or sung.   As His Word is on the lips of His people when they visit the hospital room or the nursing home, when they work or when they play, Christ’s healing touch of forgiveness and healing are brought to our lives.

Prayer

Lord God, You have called Your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths not yet followed, through dangers unknown.  Give us faith to go out with courage, not knowing where we go but only that Your hand is leading us and Your love supporting us; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and rules with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen. Curtis DeCoste was ordained and installed as our pastor on June 7th!  We are thrilled to have Pastor DeCoste and his family with us!
